Role Summary
The Aseptic Tech 1 is an integral part of the Manufacturing team based out of the US - Omaha, NE - Vaccines site. The Central Services, Media Prep, Fill Tech work as a single unit and may overlap departments as workflow dictates. Techs will be trained in all areas of these departments to support aseptic filling and related processes.
Responsibilities
- Batch and fill orders after completion by Virus or Bacterin Production.
- Stand for long periods to batch and fill orders and perform lifting as required.
- Perform basic math to calculate volume measurements, conversions, and dosages; use computer and data entry systems.
- Maintain good hand-eye coordination to measure and fill orders.
- Follow and apply aseptic technique at all times when filling and stoppering orders.
- Label and pack fills; ensure vial counts are accurate; label government samples.
- Maintain concurrent and accurate paperwork; comply with USDA regulations (9CFR) as applicable.
- Keep holding rooms and laboratories stocked and clean; rotate stock within the lab according to autoclave run dates.
Qualifications
- Decision Making Responsibilities: Ability to understand and apply written instructions to properly perform procedures.
- Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in the English language; apply mathematical formulas to practical laboratory situations; use computer/software tools.
- Physical Demands: Lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull tanks weighing up to 1,300 lbs; move across production areas; stand and bend for long periods; good eyesight for calibrations and hand/eye coordination.
- Work Environment: Heat near autoclaves, cold in coolers, and moisture during cleaning/disinfecting of glassware.
Skills
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
Education
- Education and/or Experience: Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency. Experience in these areas is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting English; ability to apply mathematical formulas to laboratory tasks; computer/software usage.
Additional Requirements
- Physical Requirements: Lift or carry 21 to 50 lbs; push or pull over 100 lbs; constant walking and standing; frequent bending.
