Area Business Manager (ABM), US Petcare Division

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop all colleagues in the area accordingly based on position.
- Consistently demonstrate Solution Coaching capabilities.
- Direct the business activities and efforts of area Account Managers (AM) and Executive Account Managers (EAM) to meet management objectives.
- Attract, develop, evaluate, differentiate, and retain top talent through recruiting/hiring, ongoing coaching, and effective use of colleague development and performance management tools.
- Spend 75% of available time on field-coaching days to help AMs and EAMs meet performance objectives by strengthening core capabilities and professional development.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration across team members.
- Meet or exceed sales objectives (quota) overall and for key growth products via development and coaching of AMs and EAMs.
- Successfully lead the launch of new products/services/equipment.
- Improve key sales metrics (growth rates) and the health of the area business by improving leverage and managing analytical insights reports.
- Develop annual strategic business plans (demographics, economics, performance, potential, actionable items, tracking and reporting) for territories and the area.
- Coordinate and allocate marketing efforts to balance needs of AMs and EAMs.
- Handle administrative/reporting duties, including operating expenses and performance management/reviews.
- Attend/participate in new product launches and periodic regional/area sales meetings.
- Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required.
- Minimum 3 years people leader/management experience for external talent.

Technical Skills
- People leadership experience; ability to find opportunities/solve problems to drive sales performance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, business management, and computer skills.
- Change agent mindset; continuous learning; ability to push self/others beyond dominant logic.
- Ability to work cross-functionally; align with/influence stakeholders; build/manage relationships.
- Adept in fluid, complex, ever-changing environments; uses analytics/insights for decision-making.

- Customer-focused demeanor and presentation; results-oriented; resolves issues early.
- Independent self-starter and effective team player.
- Animal Health experience and knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine.
- Willingness to accept and incorporate feedback.

Physical Skills
- Travel extensively (70–80%) as necessary (may require overnight stays).
