Role Summary
The Area Business Manager (ABM) is responsible for engaging Allergists and other key customers within an assigned geography and presenting clinically focused selling messages to create and grow revenue and to consistently deliver product goals related to atopic dermatitis and asthma indications. The ABM will demonstrate initiative, drive, independence, and take ownership for meeting and exceeding individual business goals, while operating in a compliant manner with all policies and promotion standards.
Responsibilities
- Engage Allergy/Immunology customers within assigned geographical territory and deliver clinically focused messages to introduce, launch, grow brand-share and revenue and to consistently deliver on product goals for atopic dermatitis and asthma indications.
- Collaborate with key field-based stakeholders (Regeneron Sales Professional counterparts, Medical Science Liaisons, Field Reimbursement and Market Access teammates, Thought Leader Liaisons, and others) to address customer needs, identify market dynamics and trends, and develop strategies supporting brand and corporate objectives.
- Develop strong working relationships with Allergy experts, biologic coordinators, office staff, and other healthcare personnel and patient advocacy groups as directed.
- Drive results by identifying opportunities and developing strategic plans to generate product utilization and grow territory business.
- Plan, organize, and execute local promotional speaker programs and activities.
- Manage the territory budget to support execution of strategies and grow the business.
- Participate in initiatives to support sales success (e.g., industry congresses, local and regional meetings, medical conferences).
- Own business opportunities within the geographic area, coordinating and calling upon large group practices and other key targets to drive product results.
- Establish relationships with thought leaders to drive industry-leading customer value.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Required: 3+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience.
- Required: Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and scientific product-related information.
- Required: Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary; additional travel may be required within the assigned territory.
- Required: Proven success and positive track record of consistent sales performance in complex markets with diverse customer segments, operating with integrity within compliance guidelines.
- Required: Ability to operate as a team player and collaborate with partners and internal colleagues to reach common goals.
- Required: Valid Driver’s License.
- Preferred: 2+ years selling sub-cutaneous self-injectable biologics or office-administered IV in a complex market.
- Preferred: 2+ years selling experience in asthma or other immunology disorders (e.g., atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis).
- Preferred: 2+ years selling experience calling on Allergists or Dermatologists.
- Preferred: Launch experience in specialty care and biologics.
- Preferred: Alliance/matrix partnership experience.
- Preferred: Advanced clinically based selling skills; results-oriented with a track record of product launches.
- Preferred: Experience in servicing and training office staff, nurses, and office managers.
- Preferred: Strong scientific knowledge with a proactive approach to learning disease states, treatment options, and healthcare trends.
- Preferred: Highly organized with strong account management skills.
