Position: Area Business Director (ABD)

Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver regional sales performance for a team of 4–6 Key Account Managers (KAMs).
- Translate national strategy into regional/territory execution plans.
- Analyze performance trends, market dynamics, and competition to guide strategy and resource allocation.
- Set and coach clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.
- Identify risks/opportunities early and adjust strategy to achieve goals.
- Pursue interactions with key decision makers (IDN, hospital, infusion clinic leadership, KOLs).
- Lead, coach, and develop KAMs; provide hands-on field coaching (joint calls, account reviews, real-time feedback).
- Improve team capabilities in strategic account management and complex selling.
- Attract, develop, retain talent; create development plans and succession strategies.
- Maintain executive relationships with institutions/health systems/KOLs; support complex account navigation.
- Ensure compliant execution of marketing/tactical plans; drive CRM/analytics use.
- Oversee required administrative and compliance activities (T&E, reporting, SOP adherence, Sunshine Act).
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs) and act as field-to-leadership feedback loop.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA/MPH/PharmD or related).
- 10+ years related pharmaceutical sales experience.
- Proven leadership managing field-based teams in specialty pharma.
- Strong understanding of drug development, commercialization, and specialty market dynamics.
- Advanced strategic/analytical skills; exceptional coaching/communication/influencing.
- Matrix leadership experience and ability to leverage cross-functional resources.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Preferred: regional/multi-state ownership experience; established regional healthcare system/KOL relationships; experience in complex institutional/IDN environments.

Travel: ~75% (field engagement, customer/account meetings, conferences; may include overnight/weekend commitments).
