Position Summary
As a member of the Ardelyx Sales team, the Area Business Director (Nephrology) will cultivate and maintain a strong direct customer-facing presence with nephrology healthcare providers, office/clinic staff, and affiliated dialysis center personnel as needed.

Responsibilities
- Achieve sales objectives.
- Deliver favorable results through accountability, collaboration, compliance, and teamwork.
- Establish and implement an effective sales plan to meet (ideally exceed) sales goals and corporate objectives.
- Collaborate with ABD peers to optimize product opportunities via coordination and information sharing linked to nephrology practices and dialysis organizations.
- Work with Marketing, Patient Services, and Market Access to inform territory experiences and dynamics and optimize product success.
- Master clinical data, disease state knowledge, competitive products, and market access information to drive relevant messaging.
- Ensure activities comply with all laws, regulations, and Ardelyx compliance policies.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry sales experience.
- Specialty pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience; nephrology preferred.
- Proven track record of success (achieving/outperforming sales goals).
- Product launch experience.
- Experience with patient service hubs and specialty pharmacy distribution knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in competitive markets.
- Ability to engage customers focused on their needs and experience.
- Understanding of laws/regulations for pharmaceutical sales and marketing to physicians and healthcare organizations.
- Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
- Strong clinical/scientific acumen to influence healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Knowledge/relationships with nephrology HCPs and affiliated dialysis centers is a plus; patient advocacy group relationships a plus.
- Ability to analyze sales data and KPIs.
- Integrity, honesty, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Prior sales management experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree.

Work Environment

Compensation
- Anticipated base pay range: $145,000–$190,000 (plus potential annual bonus and equity, subject to eligibility).
