Position Summary
The Manager, Procurement β€” Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Category supports execution of end-to-end API procurement strategy for value generation and M&A products, delivering value in cost efficiency, supplier quality, innovation, and sustainability. Key partner with External Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Legal, and Finance to translate business needs into sourcing strategies, shape the supply base, and drive supplier performance.

Responsibilities
- Support Innovative Medicine procurement strategy; drive opportunity identification and capability uplift.
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies aligned to short-, mid-, and long-term business needs.
- Use market intelligence to assess trends, identify value-creation opportunities, and proactively address supply and cost risks.
- Prioritize delivery against business milestones; lead/coordinate medium to large complex procurement projects.
- Build relationships with strategic suppliers; manage selection and due diligence.
- Negotiate commercial agreements/contracts balancing value, risk, and continuity; oversee contract lifecycle with Legal.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and R&D to enable product launches and operational readiness.
- Deliver cost-effective sourcing; drive cost avoidance and cash-flow improvements; manage procurement KPIs.
- Escalate commercial, supply, quality, and regulatory risks; support contingency/continuity plans; ensure compliance.
- Leverage procurement systems/analytics; promote digital tools/automation; drive continuous improvement.
- Translate category needs into supplier innovation projects; lead projects through commercialization/qualification/verification.

Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Biological Sciences or related; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years procurement/category management experience.
- Strong negotiation, sourcing strategy, supplier management, and contract delivery.
- Strong analytical skills; Excel/analytics tools; familiarity with digital and AI procurement tools.
- Strong business partner influence/presentation; project management experience.
