AI and Agentic Engineer II

Role: Engineer II - AI and Agentic focuses on designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI applications that automate complex IT and business workflows at Exelixis. Responsibilities include transforming prototypes into secure, scalable services, integrating large language models (LLMs), APIs, and enterprise data sources, and implementing CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security best practices. The role also involves authoring technical documentation, leading reviews, and contributing to platform components, all while collaborating with product, security, and platform teams. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields with 3-5 years of experience, including 2-4 years in AI applications, automation, or data science. Technical skills required include proficiency in Python/JavaScript/TypeScript, API integration, CI/CD, cloud AI platforms (AWS, Bedrock, Databricks), and frameworks for agent-based AI patterns. Preferred skills include experience with AI evaluation frameworks and observability tooling.
