Agentic Automation Lead - Frontier AI

Role: Automation AI Scientist leading the design, development, and deployment of agentic systems for autonomous laboratory experimentation within Lilly and NVIDIA’s AI co-innovation lab. Objectives: enhance high-throughput, self-driving lab capabilities to accelerate drug discovery processes. Responsibilities: engineer multi-agent systems for lab workflows; implement active learning and Bayesian optimization for experiment selection; transition prototypes to reliable production systems; lead a team of scientist-engineers; own platform roadmap, architecture, and operational stability; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including NVIDIA researchers. Requirements: PhD (or MS/BS with equivalent experience) in STEM; 3+ years building AI or lab automation platforms; 1+ year of people management. HighValue: expertise in integrating control/AI with laboratory automation (liquid handlers, analytical instruments); experience with autonomous experimentation, self-driving labs, or high-throughput workflows; familiarity with LIMS/ELN systems; proven platform ownership from concept to operation; track record in startup or R&D environments.
