Role Summary

The Associate Director, Access & Reimbursement, RLT (Radioligand Therapy) is a remote/field-based role covering specified regions in California. The role provides education on access and reimbursement topics to defined accounts, leads patient access and reimbursement strategy within aligned accounts, and collaborates cross-functionally to support patient access to Novartis medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with large, complex accounts to support patient access and provide education to providers and staff to integrate products into office workflows.
  • Answer questions related to NPC policies on ordering, payment, inventory, and returns in offices.
  • Collaborate with executives, administrators, billing staff, claims departments, and revenue cycle managers to support patient access.
  • Analyze and address patient reimbursement issues with third-party payers; identify local, regional, and national reimbursement trends.
  • Support pull-through on local coverage decisions and communicate policy changes across departments.
  • Inform customers about NVS-sponsored patient support programs (e.g., Co-pay).
  • Maintain regional/local access expertise and act as reimbursement expert for aligned products as needed.
  • Interface with Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers on case management, tracking, and staff education.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional NPC teams to address customer needs and barriers related to access and reimbursement.
  • Ensure compliance with NPC policies, privacy laws, and internal guidelines; handle PII appropriately.
  • Identify and report adverse events per established Novartis processes.

Buy and Bill Specific

  • Assess access in the geography and develop a Plan of Action (POA); communicate POA to relevant personnel.
  • Educate HCPs on acquisition pathways, buy-and-bill processes, workflows, and facility pull-through in complex accounts, including centralized/decentralized acquisition and alternative channels for administration.
  • Educate stakeholders on logistics for ordering, payment, inventory, and returns/replacement.
  • Analyze reimbursement issues and act as the designated reimbursement expert for offices and field teams.
  • Engage with non-prescribers (pharmacy, system leadership, financial counselors, etc.) regarding Novartis medicines.

Radioligand Therapies Specific

  • Partner with NPS and account teams on supply capacity, site procurement eligibility, and communications on orders and logistics.
  • Understand RLT priorities, site readiness for procurement of nuclear medicines, and billing to facilitate orders and educate on procurement systems and processes.
  • Coordinate with customer engagement teams on procurement/logistics and patient-specific support (benefit verification, PA, appeals, copay programs, rebates).
  • Support onboarding of new sites with RAM licenses, W9, PRD preferences; apply to therapy/diagnostic centers.

What Youโ€™ll Bring To The Role

Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree required; business and/or biological science preferred. Advanced degree preferred.

Essential Requirements

  • 5+ years in pharmaceuticals/biotech focusing on Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, or account management; 2 years in a Patient Services role for a specialty product.
  • Experience with complex practices/health systems to establish access pathways.
  • Strategic account management with proactive approach to anticipate access hurdles.
  • Deep expertise in integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
  • Experience with specialty products via Specialty Pharmacy networks.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
  • Strong understanding of Commercial payers, Medicare, and state Medicaid in the region.
  • Must live within assigned territory; ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • Driving is an essential function; must have a valid, unrestricted driverโ€™s license.
  • Reasonable accommodations available if driving remains essential and feasible.

  • Experience presenting to C-level account executives.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Public Affairs, State & Government Affairs, Trade, and third-party affiliates.
  • Therapeutic area practice dynamics and reimbursement/program support expertise.
  • Strong customer focus, collaboration, business acumen, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Significant use of company-provided vehicle and good driving record.
  • Field-based role with ability to manage field expenses and submit timely reports.
