Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with large, complex accounts to support patient access for aligned therapeutic area products; proactively provide face-to-face education (or virtual as needed) to integrate programs into office processes and workflows.
- Partner with therapeutic area office stakeholders (executives, providers, administrators, billing/coding, claims, revenue cycle managers) to support patient access.
- Analyze reimbursement problems; support reimbursement issues with third-party payers at the provider level; analyze account reimbursement issues as needed.
- Support pull-through on local coverage decisions; communicate policy changes/issues that may affect other departments.
- Maintain expertise in regional/local access landscape and act as reimbursement expert for aligned products.
- Coordinate with Patient Support Center (hub) and Access & Reimbursement Managers on patient case management (tracking cases, issue resolution, reimbursement support, office staff education).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with NPC associates to share insights on access/reimbursement needs and barriers.
- Educate HCPs on approved acquisition pathways and buy-and-bill end-to-end processes/workflows, including centralized/decentralized acquisition and alternative channels (e.g., white/clear/brown bagging; alternate site of care).

Buy and Bill Specific:
- Assess access situation; develop and communicate a Plan of Action (POA).
- Educate stakeholders on logistics for ordering, payment, inventory, and product returns/replacements.
- Engage non-prescribers (pharmacy, system leadership, financial counselors, administrators, revenue cycle managers) regarding Novartis medicines.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required (business and/or biological science preferred); advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years in pharmaceuticals/biotech (Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or account management), including 2 years in a Patient Services practice support role for specialty products.
- Experience with highly complex practices/health systems to establish access and acquisition pathways.
- Strategic/proactive account management experience.
- Deep experience integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
- Experience with specialty products via Specialty Pharmacy networks.
- Knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
- Reside within territory or within 60 miles commuting distance.
- Travel 60–80%; must have valid driver’s license.

Training:
- Complete initial training during dedicated training period (home study; ≀8 hours/day; ≀40 hours/week).
