Role Summary
Account Specialist, USC Specialty — promote a biologic to specialists, build your skill sets, and do impactful work in the Illinois territory (Bloomington, Peoria, Springfield, Champaign).
Responsibilities
- Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialists (Pulmonologist, Allergist and ENT) support of a GSK biologic product.
- Understand the payer, distribution and reimbursement landscape in the specialty market and align appropriate resources (MAAI, HUB, HQ Approved materials) while working within GSK guidelines.
- Demonstrate continuous learning, especially in the respiratory disease state.
- Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
- Work within compliance guidelines and GSK values.
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Develop and implement strategies specific to each customer within an account (Pulmonology, Allergy and ENT).
- Develop and maintain strong collaboration with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
- Effectively manage allocated resources (financial).
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customers' requests, inquiries and needs.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales
- Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which may include overnight travel up to 30%
- Valid driver’s license
- Specialty Products that utilize the Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy modes of distribution
- Must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle – driving is an essential function
- The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience
- Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biologic, or medical device experience
- Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical or biologic or medical device experience
Skills
- Expertise in payer reimbursement management (plus)
- Biologic/rare disease/respiratory sales experience (plus)
- Problem solving, high accountability, and business acumen
- Established relationships with key health systems, especially in Pulmonology and Allergy
- Living in the territory (preferred)
