Role Summary
Account Specialist, USC Specialty β Bloomington, IL; Peoria, IL; Springfield, IL; Champaign, IL. The role provides the opportunity to promote a biologic to specialists, build skill sets, and do impactful work.
Responsibilities
- Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialists (Pulmonologist, Allergist and ENT) in support of a GSK biologic product.
- Understand the payer, distribution and reimbursement landscape in the specialty market and align appropriate resources (MAAI, HUB, HQ Approved materials) within guidelines.
- Demonstrate continuous learning, especially in the respiratory disease state.
- Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
- Work within compliance guidelines and company values.
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Develop and implement account-specific strategies (Pulmonology, Allergy and ENT).
- Collaborate with Marketing, Payer Relations, Medical (MSLs), and other functions within the organization.
- Manage allocated resources effectively (financial).
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to requests, inquiries, and needs.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorβs degree
- Required: 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales
- Required: Ability to travel domestically up to 30% overnight in some territories
- Required: Valid driverβs license
- Required: Experience with Specialty Products that use Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy distribution
- Required: Ability to drive or operate a vehicle β driving is an essential function
- Salary grade eligibility based on experience:
- Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biologic, or medical device experience
- Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical, biologic, or medical device experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in working with Payer Reimbursement Managers
- Biologic/Rare Disease/Respiratory Sales experience
- Problem solving, high accountability and business acumen
- Established relationships with key health systems in Pulmonology and Allergy
- Living in the territory
