Role Summary
Account Specialist, USC Specialty, with responsibilities centered on promoting a biologic to specialists, building skills, and delivering impactful work within the specified Illinois locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialists (Pulmonologist, Allergist and ENT) in support of a GSK biologic product.
- Understand the payer, distribution and reimbursement landscape in the specialty market and align appropriate resources (MAAI, HUB, HQ Approved materials) while adhering to GSK guidelines.
- Demonstrate continuous learning, especially in the respiratory disease state.
- Deliver product educational programs/in-services to customers.
- Work within compliance guidelines and GSK values.
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Develop and implement account-specific strategies for Pulmonology, Allergy and ENT.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other GSK functions.
- Manage allocated resources (financial).
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customer requests and inquiries.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales
- Ability to travel domestically as necessary, up to 30% overnight in some territories
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with Specialty Products using Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy distribution
- Willingness to drive or operate a vehicle as an essential function
- Experience level determined by years in pharmaceutical/biologic/medical device roles (Specialty Account Specialist: 5+ years; Senior Specialty Account Specialist: 12+ years)
Skills
- Expertise in payer reimbursement management is a plus
- Biologic/rare disease/respiratory sales experience is a plus
- Strong problem solving, accountability, and business acumen
- Established relationships with health systems, especially in Pulmonology and Allergy
- Territory residence or proximity
