Responsibilities:
- Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in a single layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic business relationships with Hospitals, IDNs, Academic Institutions, Outpatient Accounts, Long Term Care Facilities, Government Accounts, and Specialty Private Practice.
- Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum; deliver on-label presentations/sales calls to create awareness of product solutions and address therapeutic area gaps.
- Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio’s value proposition with stakeholders at all levels (C-Suite, Physicians, Hospital staff, support personnel).
- Problem-solve product and patient flow through Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels; coordinate key stakeholders across departments.
- Use opportunities to understand customer needs, build relationships, and develop compliant/innovative programs; use account data to create account profiles/relationship maps.
- Create, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans; determine department/channel/HCP focus and frequency.
- Attend and participate in local boards, societies, conventions, and HCP meetings; represent AbbVie and assigned products; ensure communications are on-label.
- Complete required training and adhere to company policies and OEC/Legal procedures; meet HCIR credentialing requirements for facility entry.
- Proactively collaborate cross-functionally (with National Director of Accounts/Key Account Directors; with Medical Science Liaisons for compliant communication strategies).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience: 5+ years with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science (HS diploma/GED otherwise).
- Account-based selling experience in hospitals/wound care/infusion centers; ability to build hospital advocacy; navigate complex/matrix environments (e.g., IDNs, academic institutions).
- Knowledge of formulary approval process; driving formulary approvals; Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Documented strong sales performance; advanced sales skills; strong team player.
- Strong business acumen, planning/organization, presentation/facilitation, and problem-resolution skills; ability to learn and present complex scientific information.
- Ability to influence, be a credible peer resource, and lead by example.
- Ability to fully cover assigned geography; valid driver’s license.
- Travel as needed for territory coverage and meetings.
- Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
