This role is field-based. The candidate should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in a single-layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practice.
- Advance customers along the sales continuum via on-label presentations/sales calls; highlight benefits/risks to address therapeutic gaps and achieve sales goals.
- Build professional relationships and differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio value proposition at all account levels (C-suite, physicians, hospital staff/support personnel).
- Problem-solve product and patient flow across Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill; coordinate key stakeholders for patient-focused solutions.
- Develop, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans; use account data to maintain account profiles/relationship maps; target key stakeholders to expand physician usage.
- Represent AbbVie/products at appropriate HCP meetings; ensure communications are on-label.
- Complete required training; adhere to policies and HCIR credentialing requirements for facility entry.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with in-field and in-house teams (including Medical Science Liaisons) to develop compliant communication processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs preferred (health/sciences/pharmacy/business) or equivalent experience: 5+ years in pharma/health/science (3+ years preferred).
- Account-based selling experience in hospitals/wound care/infusion; experience in matrixed, complex accounts (e.g., IDNs, academic institutions).
- Knowledge of formulary approval; Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Documented strong sales performance; advanced sales skills; strong planning/organization and presentation/facilitation.
- Ability to fully cover assigned geography; valid driverโs license; ability to travel and attend overnight training.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization proof).
