Responsibilities:
- Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in a single-layer geography by building and maintaining strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practice.
- Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum; gain prescriber commitments through effective questioning, active listening, and use of approved data/resources.
- Deliver on-label presentations/sales calls highlighting benefits/risks to address therapeutic gaps and achieve sales goals.
- Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio value proposition at all account levels.
- Problem-solve product and patient flow through Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels; coordinate key stakeholders across departments.
- Build relationships that generate market intelligence and support compliant/innovative programs.
- Succeed in a matrixed, account-based environment; partner with AbbVie in-field and in-house teams to design/adapt approaches.
- Create and execute strategic geography business plans; determine channel/department/HCP focus and frequency; align resources and adjust as needed.
- Source and use key account data to maintain account profiles/relationship maps; target decision makers to expand physician usage.
- Attend and participate in local boards/societies/conventions/HCP meetings as appropriate; ensure communications are on-label.
- Complete required training and adhere to policies/legal procedures; meet HCIR credentialing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience (5+ years, with 3+ years in pharma/health/science) and high school diploma/GED.
- Account-based selling experience in hospitals/wound care/infusion; advocacy building in hospitals; experience navigating complex/matrix environments (e.g., IDNs, academics).
- Knowledge of formulary approval; experience driving formulary approvals; Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Documented strong sales performance; advanced sales skills; ability to communicate complex/novel products simply.
- Strong business acumen, planning/organization, presentation/facilitation, and problem-resolution skills.
- Ability to fully cover assigned geography.
- Valid driverβs license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to travel to cover territory and attend training/sales meetings; may drive personal auto or company vehicle/equipment.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities (may include background/drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
