Responsibilities:
- Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in a single-layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practice.
- Advance customers along the sales continuum through on-label presentations/sales calls using approved data and resources to gain prescriber commitments and achieve sales goals.
- Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio value proposition across account levels (C-suite, physicians, hospital staff, support personnel).
- Problem-solve product and patient flow across Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels; coordinate stakeholders to align on patient-focused solutions.
- Use customer insights to build compliant, innovative programs; target key decision makers to expand physician usage and the customer base.
- Create, develop, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans; determine channel/HCP focus and frequency by account; align and adjust resources.
- Build and maintain account profiles/relationship maps using key account data; target key stakeholders to maximize call continuum.
- Attend and represent AbbVie at local boards, societies, conventions, and HCP meetings; share on-label information internally.
- Complete required training; maintain policy and OEC/Legal adherence; meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain facility entry.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., with Medical Science Liaisons and account leadership) to develop account processes and compliant communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience required (5+ years pharmaceutical/health/science, 3+ years preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Account-based selling experience in hospitals, wound care, or infusion; ability to build hospital advocacy in complex/IDN/matrix environments.
- Knowledge of formulary approval process; experience driving formulary approvals; Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy preferred.
- Proven strong sales performance and advanced sales skills; ability to communicate complex products simply.
- Strong business acumen, planning/organization, and presentation/facilitation; ability to learn and convey complex scientific/clinical information.
- Credible, collaborative leader; ability to fully cover assigned geography.
- Valid driverโs license; pass drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to travel and attend training/sales meetings; drive personal or company vehicle.
- Ability to satisfy and maintain HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background/drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, state/city licenses).
