Role Summary
Account Manager/Specialty Account Manager - Rare Disease IgG4- Virginia / West Virginia. Geography includes Virginia Beach, Charlottesville, and Charleston. Relocation is not offered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Represent UPLIZNA to physicians and health care professionals, establish product sales, and perform total territory account management.
- Provide account management support to accounts within a specific geography with focus on issues specific to designated accounts; act as central account manager coordinating field teams to address account needs.
- Develop comprehensive territory business plans aimed at achieving/exceeding annual sales goals.
- Promote UPLIZNA within approved labeling in a manner consistent with guidelines.
- Address access, pull-through, and reimbursement by coordinating with stakeholders and matrix teams.
- Develop strong customer relationships and communicate customer needs to team members.
- Meet/exceed corporate sales goals; communicate territory activity accurately and timely.
- Drive product demand through education on disease state and product information.
- Provide feedback to leadership and other departments about the environment and results.
- Adhere to compliance policies and guidelines, including PhRMA code.
- Work with patient services and market access teams to achieve business goals; coordinate between accounts and Amgen field teams; educate healthcare professionals on site of care options.
- Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed; manage budget; maximize use of resources to achieve goals.
- Complete training and administrative duties accurately and timely; contribute as a high-performance team member.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications (Account Manager – Level 4): Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device or hospital sales; OR Associate degree with 6 years of equivalent experience; OR High school diploma/GED with 8 years of equivalent experience.
- Basic Qualifications (Specialty Account Manager – Level 5): Doctorate with 2 years of account management/sales experience; OR Master's with 6 years; OR Bachelor's with 8 years; OR Associate with 10 years of experience in account management/sales.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with reimbursement navigation, site of care education, and patient access coordination.
- Experience promoting products requiring coordination with office staff, infusion centers, and patient services teams.
- Ability to build strong customer relationships, educate on complex disease states, and adapt communication to diverse audiences.
- Buy-and-bill or biologic/infusion experience preferred.
- Sales experience in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Hematology, Neurology, or rare/specialty diseases preferred.
- Site of care and reimbursement experience strongly preferred; experience with institutions and IDNs preferred.
- Pharma account management selling experience; ability to coordinate across field teams.
- Approximately 80% travel; overnight and weekend commitments possible.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; professional, proactive demeanor; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
