Role Summary
Account Consultant, Interventional Glaucoma - St. Louis, MO. This field-based role requires residence within a reasonable distance from the primary city and will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing needs and challenges to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Develop and execute a call plan to optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gain market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and product knowledge; share insights with in-field team, brand team, and sales management.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience; high school diploma/GED required with at least five years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree; three+ years in pharma/health/science preferred.
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking.
- Proven selling success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes; proactive and credible resource among peers.
- Leadership experience at district/region/organizational levels; ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements; driving a personal auto or company vehicle may be required.
- Preferred: sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
