Role Summary
Access Strategy Analytics & Insights Director role focused on leading transformative AI/ML-enabled data & analytics capabilities within U.S. Market Access. Serves as a senior leader within the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence, driving data-driven decision-making, stakeholder alignment, and change management across Market Access domains.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute data & analytics capabilities enabling scalable insights across in-line brands and pipeline assets aligned with US Market Access priorities to drive business results and transform patient outcomes.
- Manage direct reports overseeing Data Enablement, Data Governance, and Advanced Analytics.
- Oversee Data Enablement to establish a common analytics-ready data foundation across domains including payer accounts, field operations, pricing, chargebacks, reimbursements, trade, distribution, and third-party data/vendor management.
- Oversee Data Governance to implement a data governance framework ensuring data discipline, integrity, security, and compliance for D&A innovation.
- Lead Advanced Analytics capabilities to enable real-time insights via AI-driven models, self-service analytics, and predictive intelligence to generate pipeline value narratives and optimize access and launch.
- Advance analytics with multi-level ML models to attribute 340B vs. non-340B dispenses, detect anomalies, and prevent revenue leakage.
- Define new KPIs and monitor post-deal analytics; identify opportunities for pull-through and inform pre-deal feasibility.
- Foster a data-driven culture through enterprise-wide data literacy/training for payer, trade & distribution, and pricing/contracting teams to leverage AI/ML insights.
- Lead change management to embed Gen AI-enhanced data & analytics into strategic decision-making, including intelligent knowledge hubs and conversational interfaces.
- Partner with Digital Technology & Engineering, GIACO, HEOR, and Data Strategy & Solutions to create a seamless AI-powered data ecosystem.
- Monitor emerging technologies and practices to ensure ongoing innovation in ML, Generative AI, and analytics-driven decisions.
- Collaborate with DTE and GIACO to articulate business drivers and the โWhyโ behind the โWhat.โ
- Advocate for integrating market access insights across Vertex enterprise.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Masterโs degree in a quantitative discipline (Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance) required.
- 10+ years in biotech/pharmaceuticals in Managed Markets or biopharma consulting (analytics, management, or strategic) post-MBA/PhD; meaningful biotech/pharmaceuticals and quantitative decision support experience.
- 7+ years developing insights informing value, access, reimbursement, and contracting strategies.
- Proficiency in D&A with deep expertise in evolving U.S. Market Access strategies, payer account management, and channel dynamics.
- Experience with syndicated Market Access databases (IQVIA, MMIT) and shipment data (e.g., 852, 867).
- Strong analytical skills with Excel, SQL, SAS, Alteryx, PowerBI; working knowledge of R, Python, Snowflake.
- Ability to network with internal/external stakeholders and form strong partnerships.
- Strategic thinker who can identify trends and summarize impact on the strategic picture.
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills to C-suite and external stakeholders.
- Flexible, adaptable, diplomatic, and capable of handling ambiguity.
- Ability to partner with senior leadership on financial forecasting, analytics, and launch planning.
- Strong storytelling skills to distill complex information into concise, impactful messages.
Education
- Preferred: PhD or MBA/ MPH with a Masterโs in a quantitative discipline.
