Position Summary:
Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) responsible for access/fulfillment activities across nephrology HCP accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy. Ensures providers, patients, and caregivers have information/tools to start and stay on therapy; fosters compliant cross-functional communications (Patient Experience, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access, Field Sales).

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access/reimbursement team.
- Use KPIs/analytics to optimize field execution; develop long/short-term strategy and ensure execution.
- Build regional vision/culture, motivate performance, and achieve goals.
- Provide oversight, training, and coaching to ensure regulatory/policy compliance.
- Address access/fulfillment obstacles (benefit/pharmacy/REMS knowledge) and expedite patient access.
- Develop regional access & reimbursement business plan; ensure product expertise and team training.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration; manage communication cadence (ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, payer team).
- Support field/virtual coaching and issue resolution; cultivate key account relationships.
- Train on coverage/payer-criteria changes; analyze performance gaps in ARM capabilities.

Qualifications (Education/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination).
- 10+ years pharma/biotech or related (specialty pharmaceutical, nephrology, rare disease, REMS preferred).
- 5+ years specialty medicines access/reimbursement landscape (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies, etc.).
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager.
- 3+ years first-line team leader with coaching/people development.

Required/Preferred Skills:
- Experience with access complexities for new-to-market medications; specialty pharmacy networks.
- Strong reimbursement understanding (commercial + Medicare Part D, VA, etc.) and reimbursement process education (benefit verification, PA, appeals, denials, LOMN, pre-determination).
- Computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint); virtual issue resolution.
- Field-based role: live in/near assigned region with major airport; valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle; travel up to 50%.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and line management.

- Target base pay range: $189,000–$246,000.
