Position Summary:
Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) for access and fulfillment across nephrology provider accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy. Ensures providers, patients, and caregivers have information, tools, and resources to start and stay on therapy; fosters compliant cross-functional communications (Patient Experience, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access, Field Sales).

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access/reimbursement team in local geography.
- Use KPIs/analytics to optimize field execution.
- Deliver strategic planning and manage tactics in a fast-paced environment.
- Build team culture, motivate performance, forge customer relationships, and achieve regional goals.
- Manage performance, provide coaching, and ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Identify and address access/fulfillment obstacles (pharmacy benefit, specialty pharmacy, REMS).
- Develop regional business plan to optimize patient initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Provide product access/reimbursement expertise and training.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with field sales and leadership.
- Create communication cadence across ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer team.
- Support issue resolution and coaching via field time and virtual calls.
- Build relationships with key accounts to support FILSPARI onboarding.
- Train on payer coverage/criteria changes; ensure pull-through access/fulfillment messages.
- Analyze performance gaps in ARM capabilities and coordinate improvements.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education/experience).
- 10 years pharma/biotech or related; specialty pharma, nephrology, rare disease, REMS preferred.
- 5+ years specialty medicines with deep access/reimbursement landscape knowledge (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies).
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager.
- 3+ years first-line team leader with coaching/capability/people development.

- Cross-functional experience (training, access marketing, operations, payer projects).
- Experience managing new-to-market access complexities; specialty pharmacy network experience.
- Strong understanding of private/commercial and government reimbursement (e.g., Medicare Part D, VA).
- Knowledge of benefit verification, prior auth, appeals, denials, letters of medical necessity, pre-determination.
- Basic Excel/PowerPoint; ability to resolve issues virtually.
- Strong organization, collaboration, communication, multitasking; prior line management.
- Ability to manage complex project plans and adapt to changes.
- Live within/near assigned region with major airport access; valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; travel up to 50%.
