Position Summary:
The Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) responsible for access and fulfillment activities across nephrology provider accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy. Ensures providers, patients, and caregivers have information/tools/resources to start and stay on therapy and fosters compliant cross-functional communications.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access/reimbursement team within local geography.
- Use KPIs/analytics to optimize field execution; develop short- and long-term strategic plans.
- Create a regional vision and team culture; motivate performance; achieve team goals.
- Deliver performance management and coaching; ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Coach expediting of patient access; identify and address access/fulfillment obstacles (benefits, specialty pharmacy, REMS).
- Build and execute a regional access/reimbursement business plan; optimize initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with field sales and leadership; maintain communication cadence across ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer account teams.
- Support development via field presence/virtual calls; resolve issues and provide feedback.
- Train on coverage/criterion changes; analyze regional performance and address ARM capability gaps.

Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelorโ€™s degree (or equivalent education + experience).
- 10+ years pharma/biotech or related experience.
- 5+ years in specialty medicines with deep access & reimbursement landscape knowledge.
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager experience.
- 3+ years first-line team leadership with coaching/development success.

Preferred:
- Specialty pharmaceutical, nephrology, rare disease, and REMS experience.

Additional Skills/Experience:
- Expertise in private/commercial, Medicare Part D, and VA reimbursement; experience educating on benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, denials, and letters of medical necessity.
- Strong relationship-building (HCPs, office staff, sales, hub counterparts); excellent written/verbal communication; Excel/PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50%; live within region/immediate adjacency to a major airport; valid driverโ€™s license and reliable vehicle.
