Position Summary:
The Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) responsible for access and fulfillment across nephrology healthcare provider accounts and for executing the patient access field reimbursement strategy. Ensures healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers have the information, tools, and resources to start and stay on therapy; fosters compliant communications across Patient Experience, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access, and Field Sales.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access/reimbursement team.
- Use KPIs/analytics to optimize field execution.
- Develop strategic plans and manage execution of tactics in a fast-paced environment.
- Build regional vision and culture; motivate performance; achieve team goals.
- Deliver performance management, coaching, training, and compliance oversight.
- Identify and address access/fulfillment obstacles (benefit design, specialty pharmacy, REMS).
- Develop regional business plans to optimize patient initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Lead product access/reimbursement expertise and team training.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration and communication with field sales and leadership.
- Create communication cadence between ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer account team.
- Support development via field time and virtual calls; resolve issues and provide feedback.
- Build key account relationships to foster acceptance of FILSPARI onboarding.
- Train on coverage changes and payer criteria.
- Ensure key access/fulfillment messages in customer engagement.
- Analyze regional performance and address ARM capability gaps.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education + related experience).
- 10+ years pharma/biotech (specialty pharmaceutical, nephrology, rare disease, REMS preferred).
- 5+ years in specialty medicines with deep access & reimbursement landscape knowledge (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies).
- 3+ years as a field reimbursement manager.
- 3+ years as a first-line team leader with proven coaching and people development.

Additional Skills/Experience:

- Cross-functional experience leading training/operations/payer projects.
- Experience managing access complexities for new-to-market medications.
- Proven relationship-building with HCPs, office staff, sales, and hub counterparts.
- Knowledge of commercial and government reimbursement (Medicare Part D, VA, etc.).
- Experience educating on reimbursement processes (benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, denials, letters of medical necessity, pre-determination).
- Basic Excel/PowerPoint skills; ability to resolve/educate virtually.
- Strong organization, multitasking, communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
- Previous line management experience; track record managing complex project plans.
- Adaptability to changing plans/strategies.
