Packaging Specialist (3rd shift)
Responsibilities
- Support production of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products by following SOPs, manufacturing orders, and cleaning checklists in compliance with cGMP regulations.
- Operate computer-controlled equipment using an Operator Interface Terminal (OIT).
- Perform in-process testing, visual inspections, and accurately document results.
- Handle materials using pallet jacks and perform basic utility tasks.
- Clean and prepare equipment/packaging lines using manual and automated processes.
- Complete minor equipment servicing (disassembly, reassembly, and setup).
- Work around potential allergens (e.g., omeprazole/ibuprofen/naproxen/nicotine and natural flavorings).
Experience/Qualifications (Required)
- Training provided; willingness to learn.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and reliable work habits.
- Ability to work 40 hours/week with overtime as needed; train on various shifts.
- Successful background check and drug screen.
Preferred
- Excellent attendance/work history; strong mechanical aptitude.
- 6 monthsβ1 year direct manufacturing; or 1β2 years general manufacturing; or 3β4 years non-manufacturing.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently: stand/walk, lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend/squat/kneel/twist/grasp/move boxes.
- Occasionally: push/pull up to 880 lbs with skid jacks; reach overhead.
- Rarely: lift up to 25 lbs above shoulders.
