Role Summary
Perrigo is hiring for Distribution roles involving driving Powered Industrial Equipment. Positions vary by shift, including 2nd or 3rd shifts. Responsibilities center on receiving incoming product, picking customer orders, and loading trucks for shipment, with substantial physical activity and operation of forklifts, order pickers, and dock trucks. Candidates must be able to work 40 hours per week with overtime availability and be able to train on other shifts.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor; receive incoming product, pick customer orders, and load trucks for shipment.
- Operate Powered Industrial Equipment (forklifts, order pickers, dock trucks) and perform substantial physical activity (repetitive bending, lifting, twisting).
Qualifications
- High School diploma (or GED) required; excellent attendance record and work history.
- Valid driverโs license or minimum 1 year of motorized forklift or Hilo driving experience; alternative driving experience may be considered in lieu of a valid license in some cases.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week with overtime availability; available to train on other shifts.
- Ability to complete core skills within 30 days; basic computer skills (point-and-click); navigate computer-based training systems; basic math and reading/comprehension.
- Understanding and value of safety, teamwork, quality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow direction and Perrigoโs standard operating procedures.
- Must stand for the length of shift (approximately 85% standing) with breaks every 2 hours.
- Vision and hearing adequate to read signs, labels, and instructions; vision requirements may apply if no valid license.
- If no valid license, will be evaluated for vision and other physical requirements; must have eye-hand-foot coordination.
- Additional physical and environmental requirements described (standing, lifting up to 60 lbs, exposure to loud noises/machinery, etc.).
Skills
- Basic computer literacy; ability to navigate training systems
- Ability to read and understand labels, instructions, and material safety data where applicable
- Basic to intermediate math; pallet stacking and counting
- Strong problem-solving for pallet stacking and loading semitrailers; safe trailer inspections
Education
- High School diploma or GED
