Role Summary

2nd Shift Line Operator at Perrigo, Bronx, NY. Union position with starting pay rate of $17.00 per hour on a 4x10 schedule. Responsible for line readiness, component checks, and line releases to ensure smooth production on the second shift.

Responsibilities

  • Check schedule for assigned shop orders and visually inspect equipment for cleanliness, completing all cleaning forms.
  • Verify pallet I.D. and sign the Inventory Control logbook for receipt of pallets; instruct Inventory Control where to place pallets.
  • Update the dry-erase board with current information from shop orders; notify Supervisor to verify components.
  • Check components against Packaging Card; ensure all components have been checked by area supervisor and QA.
  • Ensure components are set up for FIFO and stage components on the line.
  • Request line supplies (paper towels, gloves, sleeves, pens, etc.) from line personnel.
  • Coordinate with mechanic to confirm equipment setup.
  • Load tubes onto the filling machine magazine and load boxes into the boxer magazine when applicable.
  • Check lot numbers and expiration dates on components; verify weights of tubes.
  • Notify QA for line release and document activity in Area/Equipment log book.
  • Document all entries on In-process Control (IPC) forms.
  • Maintain clean lines/equipment; remove PM stickers and manage waste properly.
  • Secure documents, inserts, and labels during breaks.
  • Keep area free of soiled materials and ensure floor cleanliness.
  • Request supply replenishment from Inventory Control; obtain QA approval prior to usage.
  • Count and record units produced, including damages and destroyed items during PM/lot runs.
  • Document drum usage and IPC forms; monitor damages and partial components; complete Inventory Reconciliation forms as destroyed or returns.
  • Destroy components properly and complete IPC forms.
  • Notify supervisor when orders are completed or when issues arise on the line.
  • Ensure equipment/work area/line is clear of previous components.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
