Accounting & Finance Development Program (AFDP)
- Rotational experiences to prepare for accounting and financial management roles, building functional and leadership traits through a wide range of projects and exposure to different leaders.
- Rotations within four functional areas:
- Commercial Finance (forecasting key brands across Immunology/Oncology/Neuroscience & Eye Care)
- Operations Finance (financial planning and internal management reporting for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing; decision support; operating margin improvement; tax-advantaged sourcing; assurance of supply)
- Research & Development Finance (supporting R&D from target/molecule discovery through clinical study conduct and regulatory filings; support on-market products/new indications)
- Corporate Finance areas including Accounting (policy/procedures/controls), FP&A (business performance and strategy enablement), Finance Shared Services, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Tax & Global Trade Compliance, and Treasury (banking, FX, financial risk management, investments, capital structure).
- Complete professional work assignments such as Financial Analysis; Budgets/Plans Forecasting; Reporting & Controls; Manufacturing Operations Accounting.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting; expected graduation Dec 2026–Aug 2027.
- At least three accounting courses (3 credits each) by graduation, including cost or managerial accounting.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Leadership experience in a school/student organization.
- Relocate outside Lake County, IL for 1–2 six-month rotations.
- Submit official or unofficial transcript at application.
- Cumulative GPA 3.00+.

Preferred:
- Dual major/minor in related field.
- Data visualization/presentation tools.
- Data analysis/analytics & predictive modeling.
- Accredited Excel/data visualization tool certificate.
- Project management experience.
- Collaborative, adaptable, innovative, proactive; high ethical standards.
- Cumulative GPA 3.50+.
