Role Summary
Under the direction of a Senior Project Engineer, the Co-Op will support capital projects involving design, procurement, commissioning, start-up, validation, and management of equipment and related aspects for the siteβs prioritized projects. The role requires collaboration with engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to deliver project goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide project management support for GMP equipment procurement and upgrades from initial specification and selection through procurement and qualification.
- Develop engineering documentation (User Requirements, P&IDs, etc.) to support equipment design and perform calculations to size process lines, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Support commissioning and validation of project-related equipment, facility, and utilities to ensure proper installation, operation within design parameters, and ability to produce the intended product or environment.
- Create and maintain project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules; provide project updates to key stakeholders.
- Design, procurement, and validation of equipment/utilities; create engineering documents (Technical Specifications, P&IDs, PDs, etc.); support FAT activities; add new assets into Maintenance program.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related programs.
- Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the co-op
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 β June 2027
- Commitment to a 6-month program at AbbVie Bioresearch Center (ABC) in Worcester, MA (July - December).
