Role Summary
This winter/spring co-op opportunity in the Applied Technologies, Technical Development group in Cambridge, MA runs January 20, 2026 – June 26, 2026. Open to Bachelor’s or Master’s students. Focuses on integration and application of novel technologies to enhance development and commercial processes, aligning with Moderna's mission to deliver transformative medicines.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and implement technology solutions across drug development and manufacturing.
- Assist in the design and testing of automated systems and technologies to meet operational and quality standards for clinical and commercial production.
- Support development of process automation strategies and contribute to documentation and training materials.
- Participate in analysis and troubleshooting of existing systems, proposing improvements and optimizations.
- Engage in continuous learning through meetings, training, and project collaboration to stay updated on applied technologies.
- Contribute to advancing technology integration processes that drive efficiency and innovation in Moderna’s production pipeline.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to expand knowledge and skills in applied technologies.
Qualifications
- Current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical), Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong interest in applied technologies, automation, and systems integration.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles with eagerness to apply them in real-world scenarios.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; effective teamwork and communication.
- Proactive learning mindset.
- Must have US work authorization without future sponsorship; position is site-based and not remote.
Skills
- Programming or software familiarity related to automation and systems engineering.
- Experience with CAD or design tools is a plus.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute in a high-growth environment.
Education
- Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; current student pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
