Role Summary

The VP, US Field Medical Oncology Commercialization provides executive leadership and strategic direction to the US Hematology / Oncology Field Medical organization, leading a team of MSLs and driving medical planning and execution in the US market for the Hematology / Oncology pipeline, including medical tactics and evidence generation to support appropriate use and adoption of medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development of field medical plan that is product specific and disease-area focused, aligning with Hematology / Oncology, and translating strategies into US Medical launch and life cycle management activities
  • Active leadership as a core member of the US Hematology / Oncology leadership team, collaborating with worldwide counterparts to craft the HOM plan addressing US market needs
  • Communicates and collaborates with US Access (HEOR) to integrate medical perspectives into commercialization and ensure alignment between commercial and medical
  • Engages externally with high-impact influencers to identify and translate key insights
  • Leads TA-aligned field-facing resources, coaching them to meet customer objectives
  • Collaborates with home office medical to ensure the field team has high-quality resources to execute strategy
  • Contributes to shaping pricing and reimbursement strategies by influencing US perspectives on product profile, label language and value
  • Continuously measures and assesses the effectiveness of US medical plans
  • Maintains clinical, scientific and technical expertise in Hematology / Oncology
  • Ensures strategies, plans and tactics comply with legal and compliance requirements
  • Leads and develops an organization with strong medical and scientific expertise and fosters collaboration between field and home office
  • Shapes, communicates and executes field medical strategies with US and WW Commercialization to promote product access through demonstrated value
  • Builds a broad external network of relationships and maintains a strong external customer focus
  • Fosters an inclusive, high-performance culture by empowering a diverse workforce

Qualifications

  • MD, PhD or PharmD with 15+ years of experience in medical, development or clinical roles in biotech or pharmaceutical industries
  • Hematology / Oncology scientific expertise
  • Ability to think medically and strategically about short-term and long-term US healthcare impacts
  • Familiarity with all phases of drug development, including clinical development, regulatory and lifecycle management
  • Proven impact and influence with key thought leaders
  • Strong leadership to drive strategic planning and execution of key deliverables
  • Understanding of industry trends, strategic planning, analytical thinking, negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-building
  • Proven ability to drive performance across a matrix organization and collaborate with commercial, access, R&D and other partners
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including articulating complex scientific concepts clearly and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience leveraging AI-driven insights and digital tools to enhance engagement, HCP/patient experience, and data-informed decision-making
