Responsibilities:
- Lead one or more Program teams (Clinical Development, Research/Translational Medicine, Regulatory, Technical Ops, Quality, Commercial) from Phase 1 through Phase 3 and through approval/launch; serve as single point of accountability for the BTK Program Global Development Team (GDT) and drive program decisions via governance.
- Partner as a member of the Clinical Executive Management Team to set direction and execute goals for a portfolio; ensure program strategy aligns with corporate strategy.
- Drive development and communication of program plans/development plan with asset teams and program management.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication and strategic/operational alignment.
- Identify challenges/risks and develop mitigations.
- Refine/update the Clinical Development Plan (CDP); act as or oversee clinical leads for protocols and supportive activities.
- Provide medical oversight of ongoing clinical trials (safety and activity); review clinical data to improve molecule understanding.
- Provide clinical oversight for internal operational staff and CROs.
- Provide/oversee training and ongoing medical/scientific input to the clinical team.
- Support regulatory discussions/activities (INDs, NDA/MAAs).
- Interact with principal investigators and opinion leaders.
- Refine/establish processes for protocol design/implementation, data collection systems, and final reports.
- Present data to executive leaders and internal/external colleagues (1:1 or 50+ group settings).
Required Qualifications:
- MD; board certified, preferably in hematology/oncology.
- 10+ years clinical trial experience in pharma industry with involvement in trial design/execution, including Phase 3 planning/execution.
- Relevant academic clinical research experience considered alongside clinical development experience.
- Excellent communicator; proven leadership in cross-functional environments.
- Comfortable in fast-paced small company with minimal direction; adjust to changing priorities.
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams.
- Hands-on leadership approach.
- Experience in highly productive/high-achieving collaboration.
