Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage legal matters for the Heart Recovery (Abiomed) business; advise senior management on legal matters and regulatory changes.
- Serve on the Heart Recovery business unit leadership team; ensure alignment between Global Legal Organization (GLO) and business leadership.
- Provide strategic proactive and reactive legal counsel across initiatives (R&D, sales/marketing, regulatory affairs, healthcare compliance/privacy, distribution, pricing/reimbursement, clinical, product liability, employment/labor, technology, acquisitions/licensing, and general corporate).
- Prepare and negotiate complex commercial agreements (development, sales, distribution, consulting, licensing, promotion, co-marketing, data use/data rights).
- Assist with litigation and investigations; manage outside counsel relationships, workflow, and budget.
- Train/educate business partners on key legal topics; lead/serve on project teams and committees for special/significant projects.
- Provide legal support for V-Wave (contracting and strategic advice to commercial and R&D); coordinate regionally with non-U.S. counsel.
- Liaise with MedTech and GLO attorneys (regulatory, intellectual property, trademark, privacy, digital technology, tax, etc.) and participate in cross-functional business teams.

Qualifications:
- J.D. (or equivalent) and admission to a U.S. bar (or equivalent outside U.S.).
- 10+ years private practice and/or in-house experience (healthcare/medical device preferred); strength in corporate/commercial.
- Knowledge of medical device business and healthcare/privacy/medical device laws (e.g., False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA/GDPR, and FD&C Act preferred).
- Excellent strategic/analytical skills; ability to research legal principles and precedents.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, and lead innovative problem-solving.
- Experience training/educating business partners on legal topics.
- Some travel required.
