Role Summary

VP, GPL Franchise Lead - ICV (Immunology and Cardiovascular) responsible for maximizing the value of the ICV portfolio by shaping the end-to-end disease strategy and leading a team of Global Program Leads. Reports to the SVP, Head of ICV Development with matrix reporting to the SVP, Drug Development Strategy & Portfolio Management.

Responsibilities

  • Develops Disease Area Portfolio Strategy: set end-to-end disease strategy spanning the full lifecycle in partnership with drug development functions and other departments; accelerate portfolio and reduce development timelines; lead R&D business development activities; manage disease portfolio budget.
  • Drives execution of portfolio strategy through leadership of Disease Area Global Program Leads: lead GPLs, orchestrate globally integrated program strategies, timelines, and budgets from candidate nomination to launch and lifecycle management; coach GPLs; provide strategic and technical leadership; foster inclusive environment; ensure alignment with R&D and Enterprise functions; communicate risks and milestones; drive data-driven decisions; coordinate cross-company governance.
  • Serves as Global Program Lead (GPL) for one program: act as single point of accountability for the Global Program Team through design and execution of a global integrated program strategy to ensure successful launch and commercialization; lead matrix team and align with stakeholders as data emerges.

Qualifications

  • MD, PhD, DVM, PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree
  • 10+ years in drug development with leadership in academic or industry settings
  • Expertise in drug development, especially late development, regulatory expectations, and overall principles
  • Proven leadership in building high-performing teams and managing large, matrixed organizations
  • Deep understanding of biology, translational medicine, pharmacology, and dose selection in early development
  • Knowledge across exploratory development, late development, and commercial functions
  • Ability to set global vision, strategies, and priorities; lead cross-functional teams; data-driven decision making
  • Strong communication and collaboration across functions; solid business and financial acumen
