VP, Global Strategic Sourcing

Role: Vice President, Head of Global Strategic Sourcing at Alnylam, responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide sourcing, supplier management, and third-party risk strategies aligned with corporate growth and innovation objectives. Core responsibilities include leading a $2 billion global spend organization across direct and indirect categories, driving transformational initiatives in digital and AI-enabled sourcing, and fostering supplier relationships to optimize value, quality, risk mitigation, sustainability, and diversity. The role involves partnering with senior leadership across R&D, Technical Operations, Commercial, and Corporate functions, influencing enterprise decisions, and managing complex supplier ecosystems. The VP will oversee category management, sourcing governance, and third-party risk programs, ensuring compliance in a highly regulated biopharma environment. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related fields (MBA preferred), with 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing, including at least 10 years in biopharma. Proven success in managing large-scale global sourcing initiatives, with expertise in R&D, clinical, manufacturing, CMO/CDMO relationships, and regulatory compliance, is essential. Experience leading digital transformation and AI sourcing strategies is highly valued. The role demands strong executive presence, financial acumen, team leadership capabilities, and willingness to travel globally.
