The VP, Global Commercial Strategy will be responsible for expanding Soleno Therapeutics' presence and operations outside the U.S., with a focus on Europe, Asia, and other key global markets. This role will lead market access strategies, manage partnerships with regional organizations, and ensure compliance with international regulations. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in global commercialization within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, particularly in rare or pediatric diseases.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of Soleno’s international growth strategy, identifying key markets and opportunities for the expansion of the company’s pediatric rare disease therapies.
- Oversee market access initiatives, including pricing, reimbursement, and distribution strategies for international markets.
- Establish and manage strategic alliances with global pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, and regional partners to support product commercialization and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all international regulatory requirements and guidelines, working closely with Regulatory and local regulatory bodies.
- Develop and manage international sales and marketing efforts, driving adoption and growth of Soleno’s products in key global markets.
- Build and lead the international team, including market access, regulatory, and commercial functions, fostering a culture of collaboration and performance.
- Monitor international market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities, providing insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Manage international budgets and resources, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and optimizing ROI on international investments.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of leadership experience in global commercialization, strategic marketing, and pricing and reimbursement.
- Experience leading international teams and launching products in global markets is essential.
- Launched products and managed products in the orphan and rare genetic disease space. Success in growing existing brands, in expanding indications of existing brands, and launching new brands.
- In depth knowledge of pricing and reimbursement processes across international region, especially the HTA process across different regions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international healthcare systems, which translates into the ability to lead a cross-functional teams in partnership with clinical development and medical affairs.
- Proven success in navigating cultural, regulatory, and operational complexities across different regions.
- Familiarity with global regulatory processes for rare disease products, particularly EMA, MHRA, and other international regulatory bodies.
- Successfully direct and control the activities and budget of regional functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and operations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and manage cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Experience in running a sales force and having brand management experience.
- Successful track record of leading diverse multicultural teams to tangible success.
- Previous experience of BD discussions and alliance management.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Salary Range: $300K - $350K (Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the location where this position may be filled.)
