Key Responsibilities
- Performance & Governance: Enable Pipeline Delivery to make informed, timely decisions through governance structures and performance frameworks.
- Design and operationalize portfolio governance (e.g., cross-functional trial teams, Pipeline Delivery governance, escalation pathways).
- Define roles, decision rights, and “decision-ready” materials to enable faster decision-making.
- Lead function performance tracking (milestones, risks, delivery confidence) and provide actionable insights to support prioritization and trade-offs.
- Resource Planning & Management:
- Develop and oversee capabilities to strategically plan and manage resources across Pipeline Delivery.
- Design and implement resource planning frameworks for capacity, demand, and capability visibility.
- Partner with Finance and functional leaders on portfolio strategy, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Optimize internal staffing models and external partner utilization via vendor management tools/processes.
- Ensure right capabilities/capacity for the evolving pipeline; provide scenario planning and forecasting insights.
- Vendor & Alliance Management:
- Define and execute a centralized, forward-looking vendor strategy.
- Provide oversight and performance management of external partners (e.g., CROs) across the clinical development portfolio.
- Drive vendor governance/accountability for high-quality, cost-effective delivery; ensure alignment to timelines/priorities.
- Lead partner relationship governance focused on value realization and risk mitigation.
- Leadership Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing Portfolio Management organization.
- Partner across Clinical Research, Program Management, Clinical Operations, Data Management, IT, Finance, and external partners.
- Advise senior leaders on operating model design and execution effectiveness.
- Champion collaboration, transparency, accountability, and innovation; build scalable capabilities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 20+ years biotech/pharma experience; expertise in Clinical Development Operations.
- Proven ability to design and operationalize governance/decision frameworks, escalation pathways, and portfolio performance management.
- Demonstrated success in operating model design/transformation.
- Ability to translate portfolio strategy into actionable operational plans (timelines, budgets, capabilities, priorities).
- Significant experience managing CROs/external service providers (vendor governance, performance management, contract oversight).
- Strong financial/business acumen (forecasting, budgeting, investment planning, scenario modeling).
- Experience creating executive insights/dashboards/metrics.
- Exceptional leadership and influencing in highly matrixed organizations.
- Strong strategic thinking/problem-solving; anticipate risks and evaluate trade-offs.
- Excellent communication and executive presence.
- Ability to lead change, build scalable operating models, and drive continuous improvement.
- Prior RNAi or complex multi-asset pipeline experience preferred.
