Role Summary
Vice President, Business Development responsible for driving regional sales growth on the West Coast, overseeing a regional team, refining territories, building executive client relationships, and acting as a brand ambassador at industry events. This senior leadership role reports to the SVP, Head of Business Development and focuses on expanding Evotec’s market presence and revenue.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Oversight: Develop and implement a regional sales strategy aligned with global commercial goals, assess and refine sales territories and account assignments to maximize efficiency and growth potential.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key regional clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring Evotec is seen as a partner of choice.
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive top-line growth by achieving regional sales targets, supporting the team in identifying and closing new opportunities, and safeguarding profit margins while monitoring KPIs and reporting to executive leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other sales leaders, marketing, commercial strategy, and operations to align growth strategies and ensure seamless execution.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Evotec at industry events, trade shows, and key client meetings as a knowledgeable company ambassador in the region.
- Team Leadership & Development: Hire, mentor, train, and motivate sales teams to achieve targets and ensure efficient use of resources.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the drug discovery and development paradigm across modalities (including small molecule, mAb, ASO, etc).
- Self-starter with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing client portfolios.
- Demonstrated network, particularly in the West Coast ecosystem, across pharma, biotech, and venture capitalists at senior levels.
- Strong leadership with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region to support the team.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of sales leadership experience in the CRO or life sciences industry.
