Role Summary

ViiV Medical Affairs Director - Early Development. Lead medical affairs activities for a portfolio of assets in Early Development, providing strategic medical insights into R&D and commercialization, mapping patient pathways and treatment landscapes, and ensuring compliant medical education and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide opinion based on broad knowledge of HIV and emerging external environment with focus on patients and unmet needs.
  • Deploy analytical thinking to assess large amounts of information and distill key messages and actions.
  • Inform target product profiles and development plans for Early Development programs through prescriber/provider insights and gaps analysis.
  • Support Early Development Commercial Lead, Early Development Market Access Lead, and Early Development Health Outcomes Lead as part of the Pipeline Cross Functional Team.
  • Inform Early Development discussions from a Global Medical Perspective.
  • Own asset medical governance and approve materials/activities to ensure compliance with Code of Practice and external industry standards.
  • Mitigate risk by ensuring data communication is fair and balanced and compliant with regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor with specialization, PhD, or extensive industry expertise in immunology/inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, preferably HIV.
  • Proven track record for high performance delivery in Medical Affairs or R&D.
  • Medical Affairs approach to understanding and strategizing a disease area through insights into patients, practitioners, and healthcare systems.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, evaluate benefit and risk, and take accountability for decisions.
  • Curiosity and agility to pivot to new areas, assimilate information rapidly, and identify critical questions for decision-making.
  • Experience in the exchange of scientific information, maintaining high professional standards, and adherence to codes of practice.
  • Proven track record in influencing peers and managing team members in a matrix organization; strong teamwork and relationship-building skills; strong influencing skills.

Education

Additional Requirements

  • Hybrid work with onsite expectations 2-3 days per week at HQ London, UK or Durham, US.
