Role Overview
- Field-based, customer-facing, non-promotional medical/scientific role advancing clinical practice in the assigned territory to improve patient outcomes and inform medical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary point of contact for HIV treatment/prevention medical inquiries; provide advanced clinical/scientific knowledge.
- Identify and maintain relationships with external experts, researchers, and HCPs; support scientific discussions/collaborations (data updates, trials, patient-journey barriers, unmet need, pipeline/product education, adverse events, and medical insights across lifecycle).
- Gather and relay field insights to inform product development, clinical trial design, and market strategies.
- Develop and deliver scientific presentations/training; support creation of educational materials.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies; maintain accurate interaction/outcome records.
- Mentor/coach MSLs and lead scientific/strategic projects.
- Disseminate safety information as directed by Medical Affairs/R&D.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders; attend national/regional scientific/medical meetings.
- Support clinical development (e.g., GSK and Investigator Sponsored Studies) and assist with site performance.
- Complete required administration/training (e.g., Veeva CRM, emails, expense reports).
Qualifications
Basic (required):
- Advanced degree (MD/DO/PharmD/PhD/NP/PA)
- 3+ years clinical experience in HIV
- Stakeholder management experience
- Valid Driverβs License
- Travel 40β60%
Preferred:
- US HIV field medical experience; high performance in Field-Based Medical Affairs
- Evidence-based medicine evaluation and scientific communication/presentation skills
- Leadership and mentoring experience; strong one-on-one and group engagement
Compensation/Benefits (US)
- Base salary range: $168,750β$281,250; annual bonus; eligible for long-term incentive program.
