Role Summary

Reporting to the Director, SPCR – HIV Prevention, the Manager, SPCR – HIV Prevention is responsible for helping develop, propose, optimize, and monitor pricing, contracting, and reimbursement strategies for payer, institutional, and provider channels in the US for both in-market product(s) and pre-launch pipeline assets specific to HIV Prevention (PrEP). The role involves shaping short- and long-term pricing/contracting strategies, partnering with Payer Field, Operations and Market Access Strategy teams to develop gross-to-net proposals, help inform overall business planning, projections, and other activities across multiple business channels. This position requires a high level of collaboration to gain deep payer account insights, balance customer needs with ViiV goals, and strengthen negotiations and contracting outcomes. Location: Durham, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Gain deep understanding and awareness of key dynamics in the evolving HIV PrEP marketplace
  • Uncover deep payer insights for specific customers to anticipate and prioritize customer pricing/contracting needs
  • Support contracting strategy development for key customers in alignment with brand and market access strategies
  • Identify and recommend ViiV pricing/contracting options and prioritize across brands, price concession types, and contract terms
  • Support Payer Field Team in preparation for customer negotiations by integrating expected customer needs with ViiV contracting strategy
  • Partner with Contract Ops / Business Intelligence counterparts to develop business cases in preparation for ViiV Governance process
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of pricing and contracting strategies for HIV prevention brands (inline and future pipeline) to support both the brand and market access strategies
  • Support development and Governance approval of contracting guidelines for key customers/channels
  • Support contract performance evaluation by gathering insights, preparing analytics, and surfacing opportunities for improvement
  • Support analyses related to gross-to-net financial impact modeling
  • Monitor reimbursement trends/risks across payer and provider channels and escalate as appropriate
  • Liaison with payer marketing, field reimbursement, and field sales to ensure key account strategic and tactical alignment
  • Monitor and inform on current/future state of business and competitive actions/offers related to existing contracts

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree & 3+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals OR healthcare OR finance AND/OR market access
  • Required: Experience with financial impact modelling to support business decisions
  • Required: Experience working cross-functionally
  • Required: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, data manipulation, and data analysis experience
  • Preferred: CPA, MBA, or similar advanced degree in Finance area
  • Preferred: Experience in or understanding of the HIV therapeutic area (Experience in HIV is helpful but not required; candidates with strong pricing/contracting experience from other therapeutic areas are encouraged to apply.)
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Market Access
  • Preferred: Demonstrated understanding of US public and private payer contracting environment and the complex dynamics and challenges, with strong emphasis on contracting tactics and negotiations
  • Preferred: Capable of working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities
  • Preferred: Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with a high level of initiative and a strong ability to act independently in leading evaluations and addressing business decisions related to contracting strategies
  • Preferred: Well-developed interpersonal influencing skills including building relationships, working well in cross-functional teams, and influencing across matrix organizations (including influencing without authority)
  • Preferred: Experience with ASP and 5i AMP calculations, factors driving their results, and downstream implications
  • Preferred: Strong communication skills (written, verbal & presentation) with the ability to succinctly communicate complex information
  • Preferred: Experience framing complex decisions and driving towards clarity in ambiguous circumstances
  • Preferred: Strong analytical skills and curiosity to learn how pricing and contracting shape product access
