Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial (https://www.linkedin.com/in/brandonkotaniemi/) , the Vice President, Sales will be responsible for developing and leading Mural’s US sales organization in preparation for the launch of nemvaleukin alfa for Platinum Resistant Ovarian Cancer (PROC) and Mucosal Melanoma (MM). This role will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for Mural across the US and will also oversee the recruitment and management of field sales teams, sales operations, and training to build a best-in-class oncology sales organization. The VP, Sales will collaborate closely with the Commercial Leadership Team, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to develop and execute sales strategies that drive the successful commercialization of nemvaleukin alfa and future pipeline products. We are seeking a leader with a proven track record in building high-performing sales teams and executing successful oncology launches.
Key Responsibilities:
· Sales Strategy, Organizational Design & Leadership:
o Develop and implement a national sales strategy for nemvaleukin alfa to achieve or exceed revenue targets in full alignment with commercial leadership.
o Design, build, and lead the US sales organization for nemvaleukin alfa, including hiring top talent for regional sales management and field sales representative roles.
· Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the brand, commercial operations and market access teams to develop national sales strategies, ensuring alignment with market access and patient support services to drive commercialization.
· Launch Planning & Execution: Work closely with the brand team to set launch targets, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively manage incentives and metrics to ensure the successful launch and growth of nemvaleukin alfa for PROC and MM.
· Sales Support Infrastructure: Lead the development of sales processes and infrastructure, including customer targeting, territory alignment, sales size, structure, and incentive compensation programs.
· Sales Force Systems & Training: Provide input on the design and implementation of sales force systems, training programs, and performance metrics to ensure sales teams are equipped to meet objectives.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance, to ensure all sales activities and tactics are executed in full compliance with industry regulations and guidelines.
· Sales Performance Management: Post-launch, drive commercial team performance to ensure the timely delivery of treatment to patients and meet revenue objectives. Continuously assess sales metrics and adjust strategies to optimize results.
· Coordination with Medical Affairs & Market Access: Work closely with Medical Affairs and Market Access to ensure seamless coordination in the field, with a focus on patient support and enhancing access to treatment.
· Leadership & Team Engagement: Serve as a key member of the US Commercial leadership team, contributing to the broader strategic direction of Mural and collaborating with other functional leaders to achieve company-wide goals.
· Market Analytics & Reporting: Collaborate with the Brand Team, Market Analytics, and Sales Operations to design reporting and business analytics that track market developments and performance and inform sales strategies through routine reporting and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 15 years in biopharma sales leadership, with at least 5 years of experience in oncology sales, preferably in the oncology and/or rare disease space.
· Track Record: Proven success in building and leading high-performing sales teams, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
· Oncology Experience: Strong background in oncology, with a demonstrated ability to drive product launches and grow market share in this therapeutic area. Ovarian and melanoma experience is preferred.
