Vice President, Medical Affairs

Role: Vice President of Medical Affairs responsible for shaping and leading medical strategy across Recursion’s clinical portfolio, focusing on therapeutic areas like oncology, rare disease, and immunology. Objectives include external scientific engagement, evidence generation, and clinical translation to impact patient outcomes. Responsibilities encompass developing integrated medical strategies, stakeholder engagement, evidence planning (including RWE, HEOR), medical communications, and establishing scalable Medical Affairs infrastructure. Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Clinical Development, Regulatory, Data Science, and Commercial, reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer. Requirements include an advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD) with 15+ years biotech/pharma experience, including senior Medical Affairs leadership in clinical-stage or launch assets within specialty areas. Proven expertise in evidence planning, external stakeholder engagement (KOLs, investigators, patient groups), scientific platform development, and compliance with US and global medical regulations is essential. Location is remote with occasional travel. High-value biopharma specifics include experience in oncology, rare diseases, immunology, evidence generation, and clinical development lifecycle management. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, scientific communication, and cross-functional collaboration to support Recursion’s AI-enabled drug discovery and development platform.
