Role Summary

Vice President, Marketing and Ecosystem Platforms and Engineering leads the strategic direction, technical vision, and operational excellence of digital, technology and data platforms powering Pfizer’s marketing and ecosystem. This role manages a global team delivering high-quality platforms and services, partnering with senior leadership, product owners, and business partners across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the enterprise platform strategy in alignment with Pfizer’s long-term business priorities and digital transformation agenda.
  • Embed continuous improvement and innovation into daily operations across C4, making them core to how engineering delivers.
  • Lead the design of solutions for complex, multi-faceted problems with long-term enterprise impact.
  • Anticipate and address AI governance, platform sustainability, and developer experience to ensure resilience and adaptability.
  • Oversee architecture, design, and delivery of global commercial platforms, including Adobe Experience Manager, Workfront, Express, Firefly, web and mobile platforms, Python and AWS automation, Salesforce Marketing CRM, CDP, and Identity Platforms.
  • Make enterprise-level decisions on platform selection, vendor partnerships, designs, and roadmaps.
  • Champion privacy-first and security-first engineering practices; lead FinOps for cloud spend optimization and cost transparency.
  • Act as a technical and functional authority in commercial architecture and core platforms.
  • Serve as strategic advisor on enterprise-wide initiatives; influence senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Represent C4 in governance forums and cross-functional committees.
  • Define resourcing strategy for Platform Engineering; lead a diverse, global team and develop talent pipelines.
  • Improve developer experience and work-life quality; balance innovation with stability.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality platforms from inception to deployment; manage large-scale programs and vendor partnerships.
  • Lead responses to security incidents and outages; drive post-mortem reviews and resilience engineering.
  • Design solutions with privacy and security by design from the outset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management; relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience designing and maintaining large-scale, global systems in platform engineering, architecture, or related fields.
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills; ability to influence diverse senior audiences.
  • Experience leading enterprise software implementations in a global, regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to lead in a complex, global matrix with distributed teams; strong financial acumen and vendor management experience.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Enterprise Platforms (Experience Manager, Workfront, Express, Firefly), Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud, AI technologies including LLMs, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, AWS, and modern web development.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel required; capacity for regional and international travel, including to Pfizer World Headquarters in NY.
