Role Summary
Vice President, Marketing and Ecosystem Platforms and Engineering at Pfizer. Leads a team translating Pfizer strategy into innovative digital, technology and data platforms, defining strategic direction, technical vision, and operational excellence for platforms powering 10,000+ Marketing colleagues and supporting other teams globally. Drives enterprise-wide transformation, innovation, and secure, privacy-first platform delivery within Pfizerβs Digital and Technology organization.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the enterprise platform strategy in alignment with Pfizerβs long-term business priorities and digital transformation agenda.
- Embed continuous improvement and innovation into daily operations across C4.
- Lead the design of solutions for complex, multi-faceted problems with long-term enterprise impact.
- Anticipate and address emerging challenges such as AI governance, platform sustainability, and developer experience.
- Demonstrate deep commercial business knowledge and understanding of external market trends to anticipate needs across global business units.
- Oversee architecture, design, and delivery of global commercial platforms, including Adobe platforms, web/mobile ecosystems, automation capabilities, CRM, CDP, and identity platforms.
- Make enterprise-level decisions on platform selection, vendor partnerships, designs, and roadmaps.
- Champion privacy-first and security-first engineering practices; lead FinOps strategies to optimize cloud spend and efficiency.
- Represent C4 in governance forums, steering committees, and industry engagements.
- Define resourcing strategy for Platform Engineering; lead a diverse, global team; build talent pipelines; improve developer experience and work-life quality; foster innovation with calculated risk-taking.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality platforms from inception to deployment; oversee large-scale delivery programs and vendor partnerships; optimize delivery economics.
- Lead responses to security incidents and outages; guide root-cause analysis and long-term remediation; enforce privacy and security by design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management (preferred) with relevant technical experience in software development and maintenance.
- Minimum of 15 years of IT experience with increasing responsibility in designing, delivering, and maintaining large-scale global systems in platform engineering, architecture, or emerging technologies.
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading enterprise software implementations in a global, 24x7, regulated environment; strong business knowledge and market awareness.
- Proven leadership of large global organizations and leaders of leaders; able to navigate a complex global matrix with distributed resources.
- Financial acumen; experience with vendor sourcing and negotiations; ability to manage budgets across functions and projects.
- Familiarity with technologies including Adobe Experience Manager/Workfront/Express/Firefly, Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud/Life Sciences Cloud, Generative AI, Informatica Cloud, AWS/Cloud platforms, and modern web frameworks.

Additional Requirements
- Travel will be required as part of this role, with varying expectations including regional, inter-regional, and to Pfizer World Headquarters in NY.
- This role may require weekend, holiday, or after-hours participation as part of a 24x7/365 environment.
