Role Summary
Vice President, Marketing and Ecosystem Platforms and Engineering. This role leads the strategy, design, and delivery of digital, technology, and data platforms powering Pfizerโs Marketing and Ecosystem initiatives, overseeing a global engineering organization and ensuring security, privacy, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the enterprise platform strategy in alignment with long-term business priorities and digital transformation.
- Embed continuous improvement and innovation into operations across the organization.
- Lead the design of solutions for complex, multi-faceted problems with long-term enterprise impact.
- Anticipate and address challenges such as AI governance, platform sustainability, and developer experience.
- Oversee architecture, design, and delivery of global commercial platforms (Adobe Experience Manager, Workfront, Express, Firefly; Web and Mobile Platform ecosystem; Python and AWS automation; Salesforce Marketing CRM; CDP; Identity Platforms).
- Make enterprise-level decisions on platform selection, vendor partnerships, technical designs, and roadmaps.
- Champion privacy-first and security-first engineering practices; lead FinOps strategies to optimize cloud spend.
- Serve as a technical and functional authority in commercial architecture and core technology platforms.
- Provide strategic advisory across enterprise initiatives; influence senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Represent the function in governance forums and cross-functional committees.
- Define resourcing, talent development, and workforce planning for Platform Engineering; lead a global, diverse team.
- Drive developer experience improvements and foster a culture of agility, inclusion, accountability, and excellence.
- Oversee delivery of high-quality platforms from inception through global deployment; manage large-scale programs and vendor partnerships.
- Ensure resilience, incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-mortem remediation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management; relevant technical experience required.
- Minimum 15 years of IT experience with increasing responsibility in designing, delivering, and maintaining large-scale, global systems, particularly in platform engineering, architecture, or emerging technologies.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills; ability to influence diverse senior audiences.
- Experience leading enterprise software implementations in a regulated, global 24x7 environment.
- Deep knowledge of Pharma industry context, customer requirements, and external market trends.
- Demonstrated leadership of large global teams, with experience in complex global matrix organizations.
- Financial acumen and experience in vendor negotiations and contract management.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Adobe enterprise platforms (Workfront, Experience Manager, Express, Firefly), Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud/Life Sciences Cloud, Generative AI, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, AWS, modern web development.

Additional Requirements
- Travel will be required as part of this role; capability to travel regionally and to Pfizer World Headquarters in NY.
- Role may require weekend, holiday, or after-hours work as part of a 24x7 operational environment.
