Role Summary

Vice President, Market Access, Patient Services, Trade & Distribution. This position will be based in our Ewing, New Jersey office.

Overview: Leads the development and execution of the commercial and government market access strategy and trade relations, including plans to improve patient access and affordability for Halozyme products, enabling strong commercial performance and optimizing profitability. Serves as the internal point of contact for payer and specialty pharmacy issues and opportunities. Leads the pricing committee and provides insights into profitability and Federal Programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of market access and trade relations professionals across Market Access, Payers, Patient Support Services, Pricing, Trade Relations and Corporate Accounts.
  • Lead Managed Market strategic and tactical plan development and execution; develop an annual business plan to support the portfolio.
  • Discover opportunities and develop strategies for managed markets customers, physicians, and patient initiatives to drive access and reimbursement.
  • Develop recommendations to optimize formulary positioning and increase market share via pull-through initiatives with field sales and brand marketing.
  • Provide pricing guidance, contract strategies, G2N analyses, and conduct budgetary impact analysis in collaboration with marketing and finance.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure accuracy in Government Price Reporting.
  • Advise the Chief Commercial Officer on product strategies and messaging.
  • Lead Pricing Committee; set pricing policy and contracting guidelines.
  • Build and manage a detailed department budget supporting portfolio and corporate objectives.
  • Develop channel tools, resources, and communications; create programs to improve patient access across channels.
  • Develop reporting procedures to measure ROI of channel marketing investments; present results to the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Develop strong relationships with specialty pharmacies.
  • Interpret and implement legislative and contracting changes related to MDRP and Federal Government Price Reporting.
  • Support clinical development and business development with pricing, reimbursement, and payer landscape insights.
  • Ensure development, negotiation, and implementation of strategic contracts with Corporate Accounts.
  • Manage state licensing requirements and monitor trends impacting Halozyme operations.
  • Advance relationships with wholesalers, GPOs, IDNs, 3PLs, retail and specialty pharmacies with emphasis on collaboration and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 20 years of experience in Managed Markets, Patient Support Services, and Trade Relations in the pharmaceutical industry (equivalent experience considered).
  • Strong working relationships with MCOs, PBMs, and other customer channels.
  • Product marketing launch experience with emphasis on managed markets, access, and reimbursement.
  • Extensive experience with specialty pharmacies.
  • Experience in Urology, Endocrinology, and Primary Care marketplaces preferred.
  • Strong leadership in managing Managed Care Account Managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and third-party contract organizations.
  • Deep financial acumen.
  • MBA preferred.
