Vice President, Data Governance Officer

Role: Vice President and Data Governance Officer leading enterprise-wide data management for diagnostics and biopharma laboratory services, with a focus on clinical genomics and oncology data. Responsibilities: develop and execute comprehensive governance frameworks ensuring compliance with HIPAA, GxP, FDA, CLIA, CAP, GDPR; oversee data quality, standards (e.g., HGVS, LOINC, SNOMED), interoperability, and reporting; manage governance tools and integrate processes within LIS, EHRs, genomic platforms; lead and develop a team of data stewards and collaborate across clinical, research, IT, and compliance functions to embed best practices. Requirements: Bachelor’s in Health Informatics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or IT; 5+ years in data governance, healthcare, or genomics data management; working knowledge of genomics, oncology data standards, and regulatory frameworks. Preferred: Master’s degree; certifications such as CDMP, CHDA; experience with AI, cloud genomics (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure); background in NGS, molecular pathology, precision oncology. High-Value: clinical genomics, oncology, data compliance (HIPAA, GxP), regulatory environment, healthcare and bioinformatics platforms, stakeholder collaboration across R&D, clinical, and IT. Work setup: hybrid (Burlington/Durham, NC) with travel up to 25%.
