THE OPPORTUNITY
Vir Biotechnology seeks a Vice President of Clinical Research to set strategy and lead the development of multiple programs across the infectious disease portfolio, including Hepatitis Delta (Phase III and BLA-enabling activities). Lead planning, design, and oversight of clinical studies from preclinical through Phase IV and commercialization, with immediate responsibility for advancing Hepatitis Delta through registration.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a strategic clinical leader, shaping efficient development strategies for multiple pipeline assets
- Lead clinical research sub-teams through direct management of MDs and clinical scientists
- Lead regulatory interactions to advance molecules and secure global approvals
- Collaborate with relevant functions to integrate product development plans
- Oversee major written deliverables (protocols, clinical sections of regulatory submissions, publications, abstracts) and presentation materials
- Collaborate with Research and Translational Development to identify targets/indications and shape clinical plans
- Be accountable for timelines and deliverables
- Serve as a key spokesperson at external regulatory and scientific meetings
Who You Are And What You Bring
- MD, DO, or PharmD; strong research background; Infectious Diseases specialty training preferred
- 8+ years progressive clinical development experience (trial design, late-stage execution, cross-functional leadership)
- Proven track record leading registrational trials and marketing applications (NDA/BLA/MAA) through approval
- Deep experience with global regulatory interactions, including filing strategy and submissions
- Knowledge of legal/regulatory/compliance guidelines; strong clinical trial design, execution, and statistics
- Ability to lead and influence in a matrix organization; strong leadership in ambiguity
Benefits (if applicable)
- Expected salary range: $320,000β$410,000
