Role: Vice President of Biology at Corcept, leading the company's non-clinical biology strategy and research efforts for cortisol modulators. Responsibilities: define research plans, oversee discovery biology and pharmacology studies, direct assay development and screening cascades (notably in oncology and neurology), collaborate with clinical pharmacology, and support regulatory submissions with scientific expertise. Manage internal team and external CROs, academic collaborations, and scientific communications. Requirements: Ph.D. in biology, pharmacology, or related field; 15+ years in biotech/pharma research; proven leadership in small molecule drug discovery, especially from lead optimization to IND; oncology experience strongly preferred, with additional benefit from neurology or metabolic disease exposure. Skills include vendor management, CRO oversight, data presentation, and cross-functional collaboration. WorkSetup: hybrid at Redwood City headquarters; must be onsite at least three days/week.
